Project Solution:

Designed by JMWA Architects, the four building’s energy-saving features include Fi-Foil’s VR Plus Shield™ reflective insulation. VR Plus Shield™ used the enclosed 7/8” cavity to generate and R-Value of 5.1. And the product’s foil layers also reflect up to 97% of the radiant heat transfer through the walls of this building.

Moss & Associates served as General Contractor for this $60 million construction program, and they began construction on these four new energy-efficient South Florida facilities for the US Citizens and Immigration Services (USCIS) in August 2007.

All four buildings were designed to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental (LEED) Silver Certification. These USCIS field offices are in Miami, Hialeah, and Kendall in Miami-Dade County and Oakland Park in Broward County, Florida.

“We are seeing rapidly rising demand for environmentally sustainable ‘green facilities’ from both the public and private sector,” said Bob Moss, president/CEO of Moss & Associates. From Press Release - (2/08)
